The intention is that this farm will always be a hub for the clients' extended family. It should be a place where multiple generations can reside and care for one another with plenty of space for visiting family and guests. The proposals explored a phased adaptation of the existing dwellings, outbuildings and garden spaces to accommodate the different family members over time.

Sustainable adaptation is a key part of the proposals, looking at how the existing fabric and spaces of the buildings might be upgraded to reduce the carbon footprint of the farm overall. The orientation and outlook of each separate element has been considered carefully so that they feel distinct and private, whilst also maintaining a sense of identity as one part of a whole.
